About Kenneth R. Feinberg

Kenneth R. Feinberg

“I realized what a huge responsibility I confronted, putting price tags on lost loved ones’ lives—and on survivors’ aspirations. How can life be measured in dollars and cents? What is fair? What is just? These are questions with no simple answers.”

Kenneth R. Feinberg

Kenneth R. Feinberg is a nationally known attorney and one of our country’s leading experts on mediation and alternative dispute resolution. As Special Master of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund and a key figure in numerous major compensation disputes, including the use of Agent Orange in Vietnam and the Dalkon Shield birth-control device, he is intimately familiar with the wrenching complexities of valuing human life—and uniquely qualified to lead efforts that inform related public policy. Mr. Feinberg graduated cum laude in 1967 from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and received his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1970.
