Five College Mentored and Supervised Independent Language Programs

Mentored Language Program
Application review begins April 7th
Application review begins April 7th and will continue through September 5th as long as space is available. The final deadline is NOON on Friday, September 5th, 2008.
Placement request deadline for students with prior experience with the language: April 18, 2008

How to Register for Mentored Language Courses

Mentored Course Descriptions and Schedules:

• Arabic: Modern Standard and Colloquial Levantine, Egyptian, Moroccan and Iraqi
  
• Hindi
• Persian
• Swahili
• Turkish

Supervised Independent Language Program
Deadline: 4:00 pm on Tuesday, September 9th, 2008
Registration interviews April 7th-18th and at the beginning of the fall semester.
Placement request deadline for students with prior experience with the language: April 18th, 2008.
Placements for FCSILP are normally completed during the semester prior to enrollment.

How to Register for the Supervised Independent Language Program

Languages Offered Through the Supervised Independent Language Program:

• African Languages: Amharic, Twi (Ghana), Wolof (Senegal), Yoruba (Nigeria), Zulu (South Africa). Also, check with the Center about the possibility of other African languages.
• European Languages: Bulgarian, Croatian (Serbo-Croatian), Czech, Modern Greek, Hungarian, Norwegian, Romanian, Serbian (Serbo-Croatian), Slovak, Ukrainian
• Middle Eastern and Asian Languages: Indonesian, Thai, Turkmen, Urdu (Pakistan), Vietnamese
