The Five College Center for the Study of World Languages offers courses in less-commonly studied languages for students at Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, and Smith Colleges and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Course sessions meet on all five campuses. Mentored courses focus on all four skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) using one-on-one tutorials, small group conversation sessions, and guided individual study. Supervised Independent language courses emphasize speaking and listening skills through a combination of independent study and weekly conversation sessions.
Review of applications for Fall 2012 starts April 2. See below for application instructions.
