Dear UMass Amherst Families,
On behalf of the entire University of Massachusetts Amherst community, I am pleased to invite you to Family Weekend 2009. This fun filled weekend is set for Friday, September 25 through Sunday, September 27. By now, I am sure, you have visited campus a number of times. This weekend, however, offers you the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful fall weekend at UMass Amherst without the stress of moving your student (or their laundry!) in or out.
During the weekend, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with Deans and other faculty members from your student’s school or college at the Dean’s Reception. I’ll give you an update of campus happenings at the Chancellor’s Welcome. Our award winning Dining Services staff is ready to welcome you to the Dining Commons for a terrific lunch and a relaxing Sunday Jazz Brunch. Other activities include lectures presented by our prestigious faculty; not your typical tours of campus; and an evening football game against the Stony Brook University Seawolves. Plus, there are a multitude of other events and programs that you can enjoy with your student on campus and in town.
There is even a chance to win up to $2000 towards your Bursar’s bill from the Student Alumni Association’s Tuition Raffle!
