On behalf of the entire University of Massachusetts Amherst community, we proudly invite you to Family Weekend 2008. This fun filled weekend is set for Friday, April 11 through Sunday, April 13. By now, we are sure, you have visited the campus many times. However, we would love for you to take this opportunity to enjoy UMass Amherst without the stress of moving your student (or their laundry!) in or out.
During the weekend, you’ll have opportunities to meet the Deans and other faculty members from your student’s school or college and also hear an update on campus happenings by Chancellor Thomas W. Cole. Our award winning Dining Services staff is ready to welcome you with their annual Taste of Home meal, a lunch of special homemade recipes submitted by parents like you (see Favorite Recipes for more details). Other activities include lectures presented by our prestigious faculty; unusual tours of campus; information sessions on opportunities for your student to enhance their college experience; a jazz brunch and a host of Fine Arts Center and Athletic events. Plus, there are a multitude of student run events and performances for you to enjoy throughout the weekend. You’ll have a chance to experience everything from comedy to theater to musical performances all featuring UMass Amherst students, maybe even your own!
