Our everyday world is specified by multiple, concurrent, and often highly redundant multisensory inputs. Infants must be able to process, integrate, and understand such inputs if they are to respond appropriately to communicative signals. In this talk, I will discuss two main lines of research in my laboratory that shed light on when and how this ability develops: (a) the development of sequence learning, and (b) the development of multi-sensory selective attention.
