Description:

Our everyday world is specified by multiple, concurr ent, and often highly redundant multisensory inputs. Infants must be able to pr ocess, integrate, and understand such inputs if they are to respond appropriately to communicative signals. In this talk, I will discuss two main lines of research in my laboratory that shed light on when and how this abilit y develops: (a) the development of sequence learning, and (b) the development of multisensory selective attenti on.
