On May 30th - June 1st, CRF sponsored the "New England Workshop on Social Network Analysis" taught by Dr. Ryan Acton (UMass Amherst) and Dr. Andrew Papachristos (UMass Amherst). During morning sessions, participants learned about the network paradigm, its basic tenets, and methods of data collection and analysis. In the afternoons, participants had hands-on tutorials using the R software platform. Participants found Dr. Acton and Dr. Papachristos inspiring and entertaining, and all participants evaluating the workshop said that they would recommend it to others. One participant remarked, "Too many workshops range from tepid to terrible. This one was excellent. As a beginner in SNA, for me this workshop educated, inspired and provoked many ideas."
