Professor Gorman-Smith studies the influence of community structural characteristics and neighborhood social organization on parenting practices and family relationship characteristics among families living in urban poor communities; the relationship between the community and family violence; the connection between delinquency and antisocial behavior.

Participatory Action Research: Creating Space for Co-constructed Knowledge

Professor McIntyre's areas of research include: how a teacher's racial identity informs her or his practice; the use of participatory action research as an approach for exploring the linkages between violence, community, ethnic identity, and culture within local and international contexts.
All presentations are free and open to all.
The Tay Gavin Erickson Lectures began in 1999 though an endowment established in memory of Tay Gavin Erickson.
