Title: Post-Doctoral Research Fellow

Description: 12 month limited term position in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at Auburn University immediately available.  The Research Fellow will work with the Principal Investigator across several on-going research projects related to relationship dynamics and development among a diverse population of individuals and families.  Study samples include economically and ethnically diverse youth, young adults, nonmarried parents, and married and nonmarried couples in first families and stepfamilies.  The work will include management of datasets and the utilization of empirical knowledge and advanced statistical skills for the preparation of reports and manuscripts.  Work may also include resource development for professionals working with stepfamilies.  Minimum qualifications require a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies or a closely related field, as well as advanced statistical skills and writing skills.  ABD applicants will be accepted if all requirements for degree have been completed. Expertise with latent growth modeling and structural equation modeling is required. Title: Post-Doctoral Research Position

Organization:  University of California Davis

Description: We are recruiting for a postdoctoral research position beginning August or September 2012. The position is supported by a four-year grant directed by Kali Trzesniewski, Ph.D., Associate Director of Research for the Statewide 4-H Program. This study seeks to evaluate a new positive youth development program that is being delivered throughout the state of California. The program, 4-H Thrive, is modeled after the Step-It-Up-2-Thrive program. October 2012 is the beginning of a three-year randomized control trial to test the efficacy of the 4-H Thrive program for youth aged 9 to 19.  This first trial will be conducted in the 4-H community club program.  In October 2013 a separate three-year randomized controlled trial will be conducted in 4-H partnered afterschool programs.

The Scholar will be responsible for: a) working with county staff throughout the state to ensure quality and timeliness of data collection; b) managing the data; c) hiring, training, and supervising undergraduates to code open-ended survey responses and videos of program delivery; d) developing and updating coding manuals as needed; e) managing IRB protocols; f) working with county staff to recruit participants into qualitative focus groups/interviews, facilitating focus groups/conducting interviews, and analyzing mixed-methods data; g) ongoing data analysis; h) ongoing dissemination of findings throughout the project, including peer-reviewed journals, extension journals, policy reports, newsletters, etc.

Eligibility: Completion of the doctorate prior to the start of the position is required. The candidate will have a doctorate in developmental psychology or related discipline with academic interests in positive youth development and applied and/or evaluation research. Knowledge of 4-H preferred, but not required.

Stipend and benefits: Compensation for this Postdoctoral Scholar position takes into account NIH salary guidelines. The appointment will come with the commensurate benefits offered for this position at UC Davis.
