Undergraduate Thesis/Capstone Project Application
The applicant must be a current senior in good standing whose honors thesis research or capstone experience is related to family research.
The recipients will be required to attend one roundtable at the Center for Research on Families, held in April 2016, to briefly present their thesis topic to other student award recipients. The student will also be invited to CRF’s awards luncheon in early May 2016. Awards are processed through the UMass Financial Aid Office and posted to the student’s University account. Any positive balances for graduated seniors are issued as a check by the Bursar’s Office.
Submit all application materials listed below:
- Complete the application form.
- One letter of recommendation from a professor familiar with your honors research or capstone experience.
- A brief essay addressing the following (not to exceed four pages with standard 1" margins, 12-point Times font, double-spaced): a statement of interest with any past research in the field of family studies; your proposed honors thesis and research project with objectives and methodology; and how your academic/career interests relate to this research.
Applications are due March 4, 2016, by 5 PM.
Applications will be reviewed and recipients selected by a committee convened by CRF. The awards will be announced in late March.
