Group-Based Trajectory Modeling for the Medical and Social Sciences

Course description

A developmental trajectory describes the course of a behavior over age or time. This three day workshop aims to provide participants with the training to apply a group-based method for analyzing developmental trajectories.

This methodology has four significant capabilities:

Social Regulation of Human Gene Expression

Tay Gavin Erickson Lecture Series—Dr. Steven Cole is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology-Oncology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.  His research utilizes molecular genetics and computational bioinformatics to analyze the pathways by which social and environmental factors influence the activity of the human genome, as well as viral and tumor genomes. 

Public Engagement Project: "Talking Truth: Finding Your Voice Around the Climate Crisis"

7:00pm to 9:00pm

The UMass Amherst Libraries host a series of interactive climate change events which run between February 29 and April 20, 2016. The series is organized by Talking Truth: Finding Your Voice Around the Climate Crisis, a collaborative community comprised of UMass students, faculty and staff working together to integrate the intellectual, emotional and spiritual dimensions of climate change.

Psychopathology and Stigma, Empirical Science and Narrative: The Need for Integration
