Lindsey Beck received her Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Yale University in March 2010. Her previous research has focused on how people balance needs to form and strengthen close relationships against the need to protect the self from rejection, with a particular emphasis on attachment differences in relationship initiation and maintenance. As a postdoctoral scholar with Dr. Paula Pietromonaco at the University of Massachusetts, Lindsey will be working on a longitudinal study of newlywed couples that investigates how attachment processes in marriage may serve as a risk factor for anxiety and depression. The CRF Methodological Studies Award allows Lindsey to attend a CRF workshop this summer free of cost.
