Assistantship in Family Research 2010

Cheryl Feinstein is studying Communication Disorders and completing minors in Education and Psychology. Cheryl has a strong interest in helping others. In her junior year, she was selected to participate in the PAL project under the faculty guidance of CRF Scholar and Professor Jacquie Kurland, which connects undergraduate students to residents in a local nursing home to provide human interaction and stimulate communication. Next year, Cheryl will conduct research with Dr. Kurland to investigate the effects on quality of life of residents in elderly home placements. Web- Based video access will be provided to family members for nursing home residents to facilitate communication. Cheryl is also active with the Undergraduate Student Government Senate.
