Aya Ghunney received her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 2007.  After graduating, she got the opportunity to put her training to use by working as a research assistant at the Center for School Mental Health at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Aya is currently a fourth-year graduate student in the clinical psychology program.  She presented a paper entitled "Sociocultural Predictors of Family Care Work and Parenting Stress Across the Transition to Parenthood" with her advisor, Maureen Perry-Jenkins, at the 74th National Council on Family Relations Annual Conference in November 2011. Aya describes presenting at the conference as a very enriching experience. "It was great to share my work with a group of scholars who were engaged in the presentation and knowledgeable.
