Dig Safe Video and Certification Form

Anyone engaging in operations on the campus of UMass Amherst that is considered to be excavations per the MA Dig Safe Law M.G.L c. 82, §§ 40 must watch the following training video prior to such work. Under this law “Excavation” means an operation for the purpose of movement or removal of earth, rock or the materials in the ground including but not limited to digging, blasting, auguring, backfilling, test boring, drilling, pile driving, grading, plowing in, hammering, pulling in, jacking in, trenching, tunneling, and demolition of structures.

After watching the video, please complete and submit the form below. You will receive a certificate of training completion by email that is valid for two years. Please renew your training every two years by returning to this form and re-submitting it.
