LEARNING PARTNERSHIPS IN THE ARTS
On Thursday, April 12, 2001, the Western Massachusetts Arts Alliance presented the third in its series of arts partnerships forums, Learning Partnerships in the Arts, at the Springfield Museum of Fine Arts from 8:30 a.m. to noon. At this event, participants were updated on the activities of the working groups met since the last forum in November, after which Dr. Craig Dreeszen, Director of the Arts Extension Service at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, presented a structured workshop on his nationally-acclaimed "Learning Partnerships" program. The workshop featured some hands-on planning of real or potential collaborative initiatives, and introduced participants to the tools necessary to understand, plan and evaluate arts in education partnerships. Originally designed for teams of established partners, this workshop was compressed and adapted to coach one member of a potential partnership. Sponsored by the Arts Extension Service, Springfield Library and Museums Association, UMass Arts Council and the UMass Office of University Outreach.
For those who were unable to make the Forum, Dr. Dreeszen's Learning Partnerships program is now available online! Click here to read about it!
