Crossing Borders Working Group: This group will work on the development of programs, convenings and other efforts aimed at unifying the four counties of western Massachusetts through the arts and culture. Marc Lambert, lead.

Cultural Alliance Convening Working Group: This group will work on the development of a convening of cultural alliance leaders in the state and region. Erin Williams, lead.

Email Newsletter Working Group: This group will continue to edit and publish the email newsletter, and to seek continuation funding to support its publication. Susan Sauve, lead. (Dyan Wiley, lead, on funding for the newsletters)

Incorporation Working Group: This group is completing forms and other required paperwork to incorporate the Alliance in the state of Massachusetts. Marie Waechter, lead.

Web Portal Working Group: This group is assessing the feasibility and working on the development of a new portal web site that is based on the www.portalwisconsin.org model. Funding received from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to develop this site. Christine Texiera and Rus Peotter, co leads.

Now Disbanded Working Groups for 2003-2004:
(these groups were active during the last year, but have now disbanded after the successful completion of their projects):

Annual Meeting: This group planned an annual meeting for the Alliance that was held on May 27, 2004. Erin Williams, lead.

Arts Education Working Group: This group attempted to develop a half-day conference to explore best practices in arts integration (how to integrate the arts with other subject areas in the schools), but funding was not received and project could not go forth. Maren Brown, lead.

Branding the Region: This group participated in a regional branding survey to underscore the importance of arts and culture in western Massachusetts. Nora Maroulis, lead.

Cultural Tourism Conference: This group sought to assist in the planning of the Massachusetts Cultural Council's cultural tourism conference to be held in the spring of 2004. Funding not received, so MCC canceled conference. Shirley Sneve, lead.

This group was also responsible for seeking funding to support the compilation and editing of future newsletters. Funding received from 25 local cultural councils to support the newsletter. Shirley Sneve, lead. (Dyan Wiley, lead, on funding for the newsletters)

New England Artist Educators Working Group: This group assisted with the development of the New England Artist Educators conference (NECAP) held in June 25, 2004 at Holyoke's Open Square building. Priscilla Kane-Hellweg, lead.
