Dr. Willie L. Hill, Jr, has been selected to receive the prestigious Lawrence Berk Award in recognition of his meritorious efforts to organizationally strengthen and further the mission of the International Association of Jazz Educators. The award comes from an endowment fund, and the recipient is chosen by a panel of experts in the field of jazz education. Dr. Hill will receive this award durring a gala dinner at the International Jazz Educators Conference in New York in January. In notifying Dr. Hill of this ward, Bill McFarlin, executive Director of IAJE congratulated Dr. Hill and said "his leadership as President of IAJE has had such a significant impact on the future of that association." We, the staff at the Fine Arts Center, congratulate Dr. Hill as well.
