The Fine Arts Center kicks off a third season of benefit book fairs hosted by Barnes & Noble on Thursday, September 20 from 5 to 9 PM. During benefit book fairs, Fine Arts Center representatives are in the store to greet shoppers and provide them with a benefit coupon. When the coupon is presented at the time of purchase, Barnes & Noble donates a percentage of the purchase to the Fine Arts Center. It's a great opportunity to treat yourself to a latte, pick up a couple new CDs and books, and support the arts in the process!

And to make a good thing even better, we're pleased to present Charlie Apicella and the Business Jazz in concert at 7PM during the book fair. Charlie Apicella and the Business Jazz features UMass alumnus Charlie Apicella, guitar; UMass music students Jen Conley, vocals, and Paul Chase, bass; and Westfield State music student Bill Chapman, drums, performing original compositions as well as jazz standards and classic blues tunes. Grab your cappuccino and savor the sound, or enjoy the music to shop by!

Mark your calendar with this exciting shopping event -- Thursday, September 20 from 5 to 9 PM -- and with the other Barnes & Noble book fairs this season: Nov. 15, Feb. 7, and Apr. 18.

For more information on the benefit book fairs, call the Fine Arts Center at 545-3671.
