Asian Dance and Music $2500 from the Massachusetts Foundation for the Humanities to support Spirit & Soul: Chinese and Arabic Calligraphy, two illustrated and interactive audience lecture-workshops on the art of Chinese and Arabic calligraphy presented in the Spring 2001. Center Series $2610 from the New England Foundation of the Arts to support public performances and workshops by Ballet Hispanico, November 14, 2001. New WORLD Theater $45,000 from the National Endowment for the Arts to support the exploration of new theater aesthetics through the planning and presentation of a Future Aesthetics Festival. $25,000 from the Massachusetts Foundation for the Humanities to support Project 2050, the scholarly and artistic exploration of the expected mid-century demographic shift, when people of color become a majority in the United States by scholars, youth communities, professional artists and community activists. $15,000 from the New England Foundation for the Arts to support New Works for a New World, a summer of theater residency commissions. $7500 from the National Performance Network to support the participation of Rha Goddess and Daniel Banks in a major community-based project, Project 2050. University Gallery $10,000 from the Elizabeth Firestone Foundation to support The Culture of Violence, an exhibition guest curated by Helaine Posner and Donna Harkavy, from February 2 - May 17, 2002.
