Sleeping with Strangers...
Dan Kwong & Peng Jingquan Asian American performance art meets classic Beijing Opera!

A Special Notice to our subscribers:

In the quest to provide our audiences with the most enjoyable theater experience, the Asian Arts and Culture Program was able to move the 8:00 PM, Friday, Feb. 8 performance of "Sleeping with Strangers" from the Fine Arts Center Concert Hall to the intimate Bowker Auditorium located in Stockbridge Hall. The Fine Arts Center Box office will be reissuing tickets listing the new venue to all advance purchase ticket holders.

This ironically funny and unflinchingly honest multi media performance uses monologue, Chinese opera, poetry and slapstick to explore the relationship between two giant super powers-China and the United States. Asian American performance artist, Dan Kwong and classically trained Beijing Opera performer, Peng Jingquan assume the personas of their respective countries in this alternatively serious and comic duet. For more information about the performance please visit the Asian Arts & Culture page on the Fine Arts Center website or call (413) 577-2486.

Bowker Auditorium and Stockbridge Hall are conventionally located next to the UMass Campus Center Parking Garage. The garage offers a reduced one dollar parking rate to performance patrons the night of the show.more...
