UMass Celebrates the Grateful Dead in Music, Culture, and Memory

Paying homage to the Dead's legendary sound, a roster of acclaimed artists including Ollabelle, Larry Campbell, Theresa Williams, Jim Lauderdale, David Gans and Catherine Russell come together to recreate and perform songs from Workingman's Dead and American Beauty. The Dark Star Orchestra will also perform Grateful Dead classics in the same way that an orchestra interprets music of classical composers. more info

Miguel Zenon Residency Reflections

Jazz saxophonist Miguel Zenon was in residence with his quartet and besides performing on stage, offered workshops and master classes for music students at UMass and the Amherst Regional High School. It was really fun to watch the interaction with the students as each musician exhibited their own unique teaching style and technique. more information

Don't Forget..

Remember that we we go into Daylight Savings Time this weekend. Set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed Saturday night. If you forget, at least you'll be early for a show instead of late.
