The 13th Annual Friends of the Fine Arts Center Gala and Auction Saturday, February 2, 2002 7 p.m. till 12 a.m. at The Hotel Northampton

Black Tie or Festive Best With special guest Dr. Billy Taylor, America's ambassador of jazz. Recipient of the Fine Arts Center Artist Educator of the Year Award

A benefit for the Billy Taylor Endowment for Jazz Residencies.

Move room to room and feast on flavorful pasta selections, succulent roast beef and turkey carving stations, and Viennese sweet tables. Take in music ranging from jazz to samba to cabaret. Cash bars will be available throughout the Hotel. Seating is unreserved and available throughout the Hotel.

Make sure to experience a little of it all... Back by popular demand, the Jeff Holmes Band, will keep you dancing in the Ballroom with a great mix of pop, rock, and swing-plus, a special tribute celebrating the achievements of Dr. Billy Taylor with special guest Frederick C. Tillis.

Hailing from Brazil, internationally renowned percussionist Eduardo Leandro and vocalist Catherine Jensen-Hole have put together an incendiary Latin jazz sextet of musicians performing bosa novas, samba, and salsa in the Wiggins Tavern.

Break from the dance beat and catch the musical fare of The Zumbyes, Amherst College's male a capella chorus, the cabaret act of The Musically Inclined with Mary Jane Schulze, Vickie Phillips and Neal Schermerhorn, Jr., and Lunar Poi's mesmerizing spectacle of light-all in the Hampshire Room.

Explore over 100 treasures filled with fine arts, original creations, getaways and much more on display for the silent auction in the Coolidge Cafe.
