Forum for Funding in the Arts to be Held in March

The UMass Arts Council will be co-sponsoring a Forum for Funding in the Arts to be held from 8:30 a.m. - noon on Wednesday, March 6, 2002 at the Mullins Center (with a snow date of Tuesday, March 12 at the same time and location). The event is designed to introduce campus and community participants to funding options for regional art programs and initiatives. The event will include a panel discussion featuring representatives from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, Massachusetts Foundation for the Humanities and other key funding organizations in the region. Break out sessions will follow the panel discussion, and will include presentations by selected panelists on their funding programs, as well as a session designed to introduce participants to computerized databases that help facilitate the research of funding sources. A resource room will also be available, providing participants with information about how to investigate funding sources on the web and at regional libraries. More detailed information about funding programs will also be made available at that time. The Forum is being co-sponsored by the Western Massachusetts Arts Alliance (a regional alliance that originated at the UMass Arts Council), the Office of Research Affairs, the Arts Extension Service and the Springfield Museums. Please call the Arts Council's offices at (413) 545-0202 for more information. Registration is limited and pre-registration is required.
