Ways to give
To see the how your gift helps .
Cash Gifts: Cash
contributions to the Fine Arts Center are tax deductible to the extent
allowed by law and will be recognized by the University of Massachusetts.
Friends gifts of $50 or more ($25 for students or seniors) qualify
you for the published benefits of the Fine Arts Center and of the University.
Contributions may be made by check (payable to UMass), credit card,
or online.
Matching gift: Many companies agree
to match or multiply donations made by their employees and, in some cases,
by employees' spouses. Obtain a form from your Personnel Office and send
it along with your gift. To see if your company is a matching gift company, click here:
In-kind Gifts: In-kind
gifts make a significant impact on the Center's operating budget and
can sometimes qualify for tax-deductibility. If you have an item you
wish to donate, please call the Friends of the Fine Arts Center hotline
at 413.545.3617. Please consult with your accountant to determine the
extent to which your gift will qualify as a tax deduction.
Stock Gifts: Your
gift of long-term appreciated security may provide greater tax advantages
than gifts of cash. In addition, you can enjoy immediate income tax
benefits and perhaps important estate tax benefits as well. Contact
your stock broker for transmittal information.
Planned Gifts: Planned giving options, including bequests,
can help minimize your income/estate taxes while supporting the UMass
Fine Arts Center. A planned gift, for example, can allow you to receive
a lifetime income while at the same time providing the Center with financial
support at a future date. There are many ways to tailor a planned gift,
and there are specialists at the University who would be pleased to discuss
with you and your tax advisor possibilities that meet your philanthropic
and financial planning goals.
The Planned
Giving section of the University of Massachusetts Annual Giving
Web site has additional information on securities, bequests, and planning
giving gifts.
