What is the Contemporary Art Circle?
The Contemporary Art Circle is a group of Friends of the Fine Arts Center with an interest in contemporary visual arts who have earmarked their donation of $100 or more for the University Gallery. With widely varying degrees of expertise, they are curious about trends and developments in the art scene and want to learn more. Gifts not only help support the activities of the group but also University Gallery with exhibitions, gallery talks, and acquisitions for the permanent collection.
What are the benefits of becoming part of the Contemporary Art Circle?
Contemporary Art Circle donors are invited to all public University Gallery events as well as exclusive events such as behind-the-scenes art museum trips, VIP tours of auction houses, and studio visits. We talk with artists, visit galleries the represent emerging artists, and hear from professionals on the pulse of international art trends. You will also have the satisfaction of knowing that you are supporting University Gallery.
Is the Contemporary Art Circle only for experts?
Not necessarily. It is all about education, camaraderie, and developing an appreciation of contemporary art. You may find that you'd even like to buy a piece or two for your own collection.
