In 2007, the Hampshire Hospitality Group celebrated 40 years of commitment
to outstanding hospitality.
From the beginning the Shumway, Vincunas and O'Leary families believed in
the premise "give the customers what they need", and at the same time
supported the community in which they lived. Beginning with the 60-room
Howard Johnson in 1966, the Hampshire Hospitality Group has been committed
to making family, community and hospitality our top priorities.
Our next venture was the 20-room University Lodge in Amherst, followed by a
40-room expansion of the Howard Johnson. Later that same year, we acquired
our first property in Northampton with the purchase of the Quality Inn. Now
the Clarion originally the Colonial Hilton, it has undergone several
renovations and name changes.
And our growth continued. The 100-room Award Winning, Holiday Inn Express
in Hadley was built and our 32-room Autumn Inn was purchased in Northampton.
The Country Belle Motel in Hadley was purchased and demolished, and a brand
new Econo Lodge took its place and has since been designated a Gold Award
Winner. As we grow, the commitment to family has remained, as Hampshire
Hospitality Group's next generation continues to grow the company.
In the spring of 2007 the Courtyard by Marriott opened its doors to a
beautiful 96-room Colonial Style Hotel, which also features a new Ballroom
and a breathtaking courtyard - both available for a variety of events.
We define hospitality, not only adding hotel rooms but also top-notch staff
that is ready to handle every guest's need. Whether we are rolling our the
red carpet for a bus tour or serving a 200-guest wedding, our commitment to
service continues, as does our commitment to the community.
