Baystate Medical Practices

www.baystatehealth.com/bmp

We are Committed to Quality, Patient Satisfaction and Service Excellence

Baystate's medical staff includes physicians in group practices that are owned and operated by Baystate Health.

  • Primary Care   consists of practices or groups that may include family physicians, internists, pediatricians, and obstetrician/gynecologists.  Health centers and clinics also provide primary care.
    • NOTE:  Many insurance carriers define the types of doctors they will recognize and cover as primary care physicians (PCP).  When choosing a PCP, always confirm that he or she participates in your health plan.
  • Specialty Practices are those practices or groups limited to specific diseases, treatment types, or areas of the body.  Some specialists also provide primary care.
  • Hospital-based Physician Services   includes physicians who exclusively provide care at the hospital.  These include hospitalists, internists, emergency physicians, and physicians providing services on a referral basis, such as pathologists.

We are Committed to Quality, Patient Satisfaction and Service Excellence

Baystate Medical Practices provides data to the Massachusetts Health Quality Partners (MHQP) , a state-wide consortium that collects and reports health quality data throughout the Commonwealth.  MHQP's public reporting of this data enables consumers to review and compare these quality measures to those of other practices.  The MHQP data also includes survey results reporting patients' care experiences (service, accessibility, etc.) at individual practices.  Visit the MHQP web site to review the quality and satisfaction data from the practice that currently provides your care or one that you are considering.
