Our 2007 goal results:
- In 2007, Bank of America lent and invested $100.1 billion in four key areas:
- We provided more than $54.4 billion for affordable housing.
- We made over $25.6 billion in loans and investments for small business growth and development.
- We made more than $15.6 billion in consumer loans to low- and moderate-income borrowers for their home, education and personal needs.
- We provided $4.5 billion in loans, investments and grants for economic development efforts in support of community revitalization, access to capital and job creation.
- In the third year of the 10-year $750 billion goal, the bank has achieved $273.9 billion in loans and investment to date.
Community Development Corporation
Bank of America operates the oldest, largest and most productive bank-owned community development corporation (CDC) in the country.
We develop projects in conjunction with nonprofit community-based CDCs and local government organizations. The Banc of America CDC has
- Targeted neighborhood development (predominantly focusing on restoring home ownership)
- Helped develop multifamily affordable housing
- Created public housing development partnerships
- Helped fund retail, commercial and mixed-use developments in targeted neighborhoods
