In 2007, the Warhol Foundation gifted the University Gallery 150 of Andy Warhol’s rarely-seen photographs and Polaroids. This collection is aimed to inform, inspire and delight a wide range of people with Warhol’s talent for making ordinary things become extraordinary.
Step back into the Sixties—the Warhol Sixties – as we celebrate Warhol, the artist, the legend……. and the party! Join us as we honor his legacy that changed the art scene forever.
Proceeds from the evening benefit the University Gallery’s Internship Program and help shape the leaders of tomorrow’s museums. Successful graduates now work in museums and nonprofits around the country, such as the Philadelphia Museum, the Fogg Museum at Harvard, and Creative Time in NYC.
The evening begins at seven in the University Gallery with a martini reception and an exclusive preview of our fall exhibitions: The Minox & The Big Shot Andy Warhol’s Photography (1972-1986) and Connecting the Dots… The Warhol Legacy: Tom Friedman, Ellen Gallagher, Vik Muniz and Rob Pruitt.
Dinner and drinks will be served at eight, then the party moves to Andy’s Loft in the glamorously redecorated University Gallery, where guests will dance to the hottest music of the 60s and 70s, dressed as personalities from the era (if you dare). The evening promises to be one you won’t want to miss.
