A World of Cities
Thursday, January 31 - Wednesday, April 30
A WORLD OF CITIES, co-curated by professor Max Page and graduate student Kerry O'Grady (MFA '10), examines artists' approaches to the depiction of cities. Universal aspects of urban life are explored across time and place, while defining the sharp differences in how people live, work, and interact in cities around the world.

Included in this exhibition are prime examples from the university's significant collection of contemporary works of art on paper, such as photographs by the pre-eminent American photographers Robert Adams, Lee Friedlander, Robert Frank, and Garry Winogrand.

The University Museum of Contemporary Art is committed to making its collection an inspiration for teaching and research in all fields and a dynamic extension of the classroom -- promoting critical thinking and visual literacy. By collaborating with faculty and students across the disciplines, as well as with colleagues at the university's libraries, the University Museum of Contemporary Art advances creative teaching and active learning, as well as engaging in active outreach beyond the Gallery. With this exhibition at the W.E. DuBois Library, the University Museum of Contemporary Art invites a wider public to enjoy its offerings.
