Improvisational Bordering Styles in African-American Quilts

The quilts in this exhibition are from the collection of Eli Leon. They were made by twenty-one African-American women who grew up in the South, and represent a special genre of African-American quilts Leon calls "Afro-traditional." The exhibition focuses on the borders of these quilts, which differ from the standard American tradition because they don't employ four-sided symmetry.     MORE…

Trump Indicators from the Collection of Joan Schepps

Joan Schepps has amassed perhaps the largest collection of trump indicators in the world, a collection which has been written about extensively in antiques and bridge newspapers and magazines, and was the subject of Personal FX, a nationally televised program on collections and collectibles. The Peoples of Bosnia and Their Disappearing Cultural Heritage

This selection of photographs, books, maps, graphic materials and original art work shows the multicultural heritage of traditional Bosnia and its subsequent destruction during the latest period of civil strife.
