New WORLD Theater's Open Mic Series allows emerging young poets and spoken word artists to step up to the microphone - some for the very first time. Hosted by seasoned performance artists, Steven Sapp and Mildred Ruiz of the theater ensemble Universes, the Series is brimming with electricity as young poets tell their stories, wordsmith with attitude, and rock the mic.
