Project Software
Here, There, and Everywhere
Project Software Noell EL Farol • Philippines noellelfarol.multiply.com Ali Mahmeed •Bahrain Ravinder Bhardwaj • India Seido Toshiyuki • Japan Sang Heong Lee • South Korea Paraphrasing the writer Jose Tence Ruiz, EL Farol considers the fingerprint not just a reliable identifier of criminals, but also a stamp of a person’s personality. For Project Software, EL Farol is collecting handwriting samples and fingerprints of people he meets while visiting foreign countries, often with his colleagues during art events. After the fluid used to make his prints stabilizes, the seemingly suspended black powder begins to build up like calligraphic linear strokes or the breath of the “dust whispering.” The project will continue for an additional three to five years until an entire high-ceilinged wall of a prospective exhibition space is covered.
