Spirit Horse
Roseneath Theatre of Toronto

Wednesday, April 8
Concert Hall   10:00 am
$6 students, $8 adults
Spirit Horse is a powerful and moving adventure of two First Nations city children, Angeline and Johnny Boy, whose lives are changed forever by the appearance of a Spirit Horse -- a gift from their grandfather who lives by the old ways on a prairie reserve. Their incredible bond with this majestic animal links these urban children with their Native heritage and brings new hope and healing to a family caught between two worlds. A Native American adaptation of the highly successful British play Tir na N' og by Greg Banks (who directs this version), this heart-warming adventure story explores the value of tradition, culture and family in a contemporary framework. Recommended for Grades 4-8.

Themes Explored: Native American Culture and Traditions, Racism, Stereotyping, Loss, Healing, Story Adaptation
