 Friday, February 6 Bowker Auditorium 10:00 am $6 students, $8 adults New Orleans' Hot 8 Brass Band has epitomized New Orleans street music for over a decade. The band plays the traditional Second Line parades, infusing their performances with the funk and energy that makes New Orleans music loved around the world. The members of the Hot 8 Brass Band were born and raised in New Orleans and were recently featured in the Spike Lee documentary When the Levees Broke. Music reflecting songs familiar to the southern experience are performed interspersed with stories on the history of New Orleans and Katrina's impact on the lives of city residents. Recommended for Grades 3-8.
