Michael Coblyn: The Way I See It
tuesday, march 25 - friday, april 18
Coblyn refers to his work as “Social Expressionism.“ When asked about the inspiration for this new body of work, Coblyn says he often looks to the past for visual resources. “This exploration has exposed me to the richness, craftsmanship and spirituality of the cultures of Africa and Ancient Mexico. The complexities of the present and the possibilities of the future are also a constant basis of imagery, concept and metaphor. The social history and current events of our world are such a powerful and compelling source of aesthetic guidance for me and I have attempted to use their influence.”

Augusta Savage Gallery. Gallery hours are Monday & Tuesday 1-7pm, and Wednesday through Friday 1-5pm while the University is in session.
