Mantra in Deity Yoga Practice
Spirit & Soul: Healing in Tibetan Buddhism


Saturday, October 17
Florence Civic Center, Park Street, Florence   from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
$20 per session; students and seniors: $10 per session; Day of the event: $25 & $12 WMASS Tibetan Association members: sliding scale of $5 to $10 per session
Khen Rinpoche will introduce Avalokitesvara’s mantra, sacred to all Tibetans, OM MANI PADME HUM, explaining how the syllables heal and liberate sentient beings in each of the six world realms of the Tibetan Buddhist world-view. Professor Gardiner will review recent Western scientific studies demonstrating the positive physiological benefits of the meditative and mantric practice of compassion in the lives of accomplished yogis.Dr. Wangmo will outline the central relationship between mind and body in Tibetan Healing practice. There will be opportunity for questions and answers. The evening will conclude with Rinpoche leading the group in chanting the mantra OM MANI PADME HUM.
