 Avalokitesvara Blessing & Practice  Sunday, October 18, 2009 Florence Civic Center, Park Street, Florence from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm $20 per session; students and seniors: $10 per session; Day of the event: $25 & $12 WMASS Tibetan Association members: sliding scale of $5 to $10 per session Khen Rinpoche will offer opening prayers to Avalokitesvara with audience participation chanting the mantra. Professor Gardiner will give an overview of meditative practices in Buddhist traditions and the method of deity yoga in Tibetan Buddhism. Rinpoche will then give an Avalokitesvara blessing and lead a guided meditation in Avalokitesvara (Chenrezig) practice. There will be opportunity for questions and answers. A condensed text (sadhana) will be available for daily practice. Open to all, regardless of prior initiation or practice.
