Instructions for Using the Arts Council Grant Application Guidelines Downloaded version: Hello! We have developed the following instructions to make it easier for you to use our grant application forms on computer disk. Please let us know if we can be of any help by calling 545-0202. Thank you for your interest in the UMass Arts Council! 1. The UMass Arts Council grant guidelines were written in Microsoft Word for PC's and saved as a "rich text format" document, so it will be readable on many computer programs. If you do not have this program on your computer, or if you have a MacIntosh computer which does not read our grant guidelines, you may call the Office of Information Technologies' PC Classrooms at 545-1611. They have a classroom which students may use (for a fee) on the 7th floor of the W.E.B. DuBois Library tower (phone 545-4798) and in other locations on campus. PC Classrooms has Microsoft Word version 6.0 loaded on their computers for student use. PC Software Support (phone 545-9730) might also be able to assist if you are having difficulty reading this application form on your computer. 2. Before you fill out the application form, adjust your margins to a 1" for the top and bottom and 1" for the left and right margins (under the word File, then Page Setup, click tab marked "Margins" and set the dimensions to 1"). 3. When filling in the cover sheet, press the "insert" key on your keyboard to type over the underlines on the cover sheet. Otherwise, you will find that the underline will be moving forward in front of the text you are typing. 4. The budget sheets are formatted as tables: use your "tab" key to move from one column to the next. If you would like a copy of the printed version of these grant guidelines, please call the Council offices at 545-0202.
