UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS AMHERST
Title: Assistant/Associate Professor of Experimental Economics and Public Policy
Appointment: Academic Year (9-month) – Tenure Track
Available: September 1, 2008

The Position: We seek an experimental economist whose research addresses issues related to public policy. The applicant should have a proven publication and grant record. Although all areas of public policy will be considered, priority will be given to environmental and natural resource economics, industrial organization, public economics, and regulatory economics. For more information on the Department’s experimental economics program see http://www.umass.edu/expecon/. Teaching responsibilities will include both graduate and undergraduate courses.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in economics, resource or agricultural economics, or a related field, and expertise in experimental economics and public policy.
Salary: Competitive and based on qualifications.
The Setting: The Department of Resource Economics has 16 faculty and about 25 graduate students (one-third Ph.D.). We place special emphases on faculty-student interaction and cooperation among faculty. We share a fundamental commitment to teach and attract a diverse student body. The University is part of the 5-College Consortium in the beautiful Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, with excellent social, cultural, and recreational amenities in a town and rural setting. We are 2 hours from Boston and 3 hours from New York City.
