-Counseling Services: The Rape Crisis Center of Central Massachusetts, Inc. provides comprehensive services to those affected by rape, incest and other forms of sexual assault, All services are free. Services are offered in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language.
-24 Hour English/Spanish Hotline
-Short-Term Individual Counseling: A counselor will work with you as you begin to reaffirm your strength, sort out your feelings, and regain control over your life. Individual counseling is also available to family members and friends.
-Support Groups: Support groups are available to male or female survivors of rape or incest to meet together to remove the barriers of isolation and silence often experienced.
-Advocacy: Counselors and can provide information and/or accompany you through the medical, criminal justice, and social service systems. Counselors are available 24 hours a day to accompany a survivor to an emergency room.
-Community Education: Violence prevention through education is a major focus of the Rape Crisis Center of Central Massachusetts. Trained facilitators provide a variety of workshops designed to meet the needs of a wide range of audiences.
-Workshops and Presentations: Educational services are available for adults, adolescents and children. Existing programs can be tailored to meet the special needs of each group. Some available topics include: sexual harassment, date rape, violence in relationships, media and violence, child sexual abuse, diversity training, and HIV and sexual abuse.
-Programs for Young People: In collaboration with YWCA/Daybreak, the Rape Crisis Center of Central Massachusetts delivers school-based violence prevention programs to students in grades 7 - 12. Topics are age appropriate and focus on skill building. Programs range from 1 - 16 lessons. The lessons cover a whole range of topics related to abuse. Programs are available for presentation to youth in out-of-school programs as well.
-Professional Training: The Rape Crisis Center of Central Massachusetts offers trainings for professional working in a wide range of settings who serve survivors of sexual abuse or their concerned others. Program length and specific content areas can be tailored to meet the specific needs of an organization. Trainings inform participants about the impact of sexual abuse and provide them with concrete skills for working with survivors.
-Sexual Harassment Program: Sexual harassment in the workplace has become one of the biggest and perhaps most confusing employment issues of our time. The Rape Crisis Center of Central Massachusetts has developed a program for employees and managers, which will clear up the confusion. The program focuses on prevention, identification, investigation, and resolution of sexual harassment issues.
Specialty Services: Outreach to African American community, deaf and hard of hearing, incest survivors, Latino Community, GLBT Community, men, teens, people with disabilities.
