The Josephine White Eagle Cultural Center is the cultural component to the Native American Student Services program. Its mission is to provide cultural programs to increase awareness and respect of Native American cultures; to serve as cultural support base to UMass Native American and other indigenous students, faculty and staff. The center acts as a liaison between the UMass campus community and the New England Native American communities - through socials, needs assessment meetings, Pow-wows, performances, seminars, art and music. Through the Native American Student service office the center addresses the cultural needs and issues of Native American people on campus. The center also supports the Kitty Wagner Cultural Resource Library which should be available for use by SP 2009.
