Program/Service Notes:
Anticipates and initiates institutional change in the human relations area. Monitiors campus climate and identifies emergent community, diversity and social justice issues. Initiates institutional problem-solving aimed at improving campus climate in these areas. Advises and assists administration regarding coordinated responses to human relations issues and incidents. Provides logistical and staff support to many campus committees and groups concerned with community, diversity and social justice.
PROGRAMS:
-Campus Climate Survey Project- in partnership with SARIS, conducts triennial undergraduates surveys regarding sexual harrassment, racial and ethnic issues, GLBT issues and anti-Semitism.
-New Approach to Community, Diversity and Social Justice-a long-term, campus-wide systems intervention regarding how the campus addressed those issues.
-Peer Sexual Harrassment Education Program-in partnership with Housing and the Social Justice Education Program.
Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP)- a gender violence prevention program aimed at undergraduate men done in partnership with the Dean of Students Office, Department of Communication, EveryWoman's Center, Men's Resource Center, Amherst Colege, Hampshie College and Five Colleges Inc.)
