Program/Service Notes:
Adult volunteers are matched with children and adolescents on a one-to-one relationships. These adults companions provide special supportive and dependable friendships which encourage self-confidence. The program is primarily recreation-oriented. It recognizes the need for additional community support for both parents and children. Companions take hikes, walks, play ball, swim, cook, do crafts, visit places and events of special interest, listen to music and of course, spend time talking.
