Program/Service Notes:
The WORC is a program designed to assist women with pending or prior criminal justice backgrounds in various aspects of their reintegration into society. We accept women who are referred by the courts, probation, or parole, self-referred, or who are motivated to make positive changes in their lives. WORC is an educational and vocation skills program which provides complete office training to participants. Onsite, from 9:30am-4pm, M-F, participants attend classes in either remedial education, GED preparation, or advanced business instruction. Typing and computer classes complement the academic instruction. Also offer individualized counseling and program activities, such as advocating for referred clients in court, monitoring arraignment court, etc. Program participation is for a minimum of nine months, but clients may continue beyond that time if they so choose. Participants are screened by staff for suitability.
