DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: - ASHA is a national, non-profit organization working for the elimination of sexually-transmitted disease through its program of education, research and public policy. - The public education program publishes patient education pamphlets and materials for health professionals. The support programs address genital herpes and genital warts. - The ASHA Research Fund encourages medical research on STD's. ASHA maintains a public policy office in Washington, DC in an effort to keep the issue of STD before Congress. ASHA also works to encourage adequate STD program funding at the state level. - The National STD Hotline has info on yeast infections, herpes, genital warts, pelvic inflammatory disease, syphilis and gonorrhea, etc.
