Hdp's mission is to ensure that all persons live where they choose to by enforcing the civil rights laws.
When you call HDP we will: listen to your story and collect important information, investigate the complaint, review investigation results with you and help make decisions on what to do next. If there is evidence of discrimination, HDP will help you file a complaint with the proper agency or refer you to a HDP trained attorney to file a lawsuit.
We have education and outreach sessions for tenants, landlords and community groups in fair housing practices; and assist people who believe they have experienced housing discrimination.
HDP teaches courses on fair housing laws, predatory lending or mortgage lending discrimination and first time home buyer training. Classes offered day and evening.
