The Educational Opportunity Center is a community resource dedicated to the advancement of learning for people of all backgrounds and ages. The EOC has a team of advisors who are prepared to help adults investigate college level study opportunities. The EOC staff can assist you with locating schools and applying for admission and financial aid. The latest web technologies are available in our new office. Programs Include: - Educational Talent Search (ETS), a program designed to motivate eligible 9th through 12th grade students to complete high school and to continue their education at the college level. It is restricted to students attending targeted high schools. -GEAR-UP (Gaining Early Awareness & Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) promotes school-wide changes that boost college awareness among students and parents. The program serves 7th and 8th graders at John J. Duggan and John F. Kennedy Middle Schools in Springfield, and Peck Middle School in Holyoke, following students into local high schools. - Kids to College (K 2 C), an early college awareness program operating in cooperation with colleges in Hampden and Hampshire counties. It serves targeted 6th grade classrooms in Springfield schools. - The Adult Education Program, offering English as a second language, adult basic literacy, pre-GED, GED preparation, and citizenship.
